Loss and the Short StorySeptember 18 & 19  9:30am – 5pm

North Wexford

Tuition 500 Euro

Includes lunch, tea & coffee, and dinner on Saturday evening

This second weekend of study will focus on loss in short fiction, and how loss feeds and sustains narrative and creates intensity. We’ll also explore how loss is essential to humour in stories. The course will include discussion of approximately 6-8 short stories and some essays and fragments — which will be read by all in advance of the first meeting.

Both courses are suited to anyone who reads, writes, teaches or edits fiction — but please note that on this occasion places are reserved for those who have completed at least two workshops or attended classes previously with Claire Keegan. No more than ten people will attend either course.
