Teach Bhride Holistic Centre, Tullow Co Carlow
August 27th to September 1st 2024
Fee: €1,900 euros
A week-long writers’ retreat with Claire Keegan.
Participants arrive on August 27th and settle into accommodation by 2:30pm. Introductions will then be made that afternoon, before dinner. Everyone will be left to their own quiet writing daily until lunch is served. Keegan will be lecturing every afternoon, sharing the most valuable things she has learned about how fiction works. Nobody will be asked to read their work aloud or show their work on the final day – but a Q&A relating to the difficulties of the work at hand will take place every evening, after dinner.
All participants will be provided with a single bedroom, most of which are en-suite. The accommodation at Teach Bhride is comfortable and the atmosphere most welcoming. Buses between Dublin and Tullow are infrequent but run daily. Parking is free. Please note that the €1,900 fee includes all meals, tea & coffee, wine and accommodation for the full week as well as Claire Keegan’s tuition. Teach Bhride caters for vegetarians, vegans and those who need gluten-free and lactose-free diets. Departure is on September 1st after a final lecture on how to proceed and how to edit your own work and develop good work habits. Writers working in any genre at any stage of writing are most welcome to attend.
